Thanks to our experience in the conservation of various materials, a large part of our conservation work consists of atypical objects that combine different materials. A good example are trunks, which are often a combination of wood, fabric, metal or leather. Such objects require an analytical approach in order to select appropriate conservation methods.
This is particularly important in the case of antique trunks of luxury brands such as Goyard or Louis Vuitton due to the very high market value of the preserved objects. There are situations when during conservation work we discover information important to their owners, which significantly increases the market value of the objects. After our conservation they are auctioned in auction houses such as Christie’s, Dorotheum, or Bruun Rasmussen.
