Danish mid-century desk, Jacob Kjaer, 1940s.
A delicate, freestanding desk made of solid mahogany wood, protected with an oil-wax that gives a satin finish to the touch. The desk, designed by Jacob Kjaer, is an example of Danish design. The corners of the legs are chamfered on the inside, which adds elegance to the entire body of the furniture. The black top, made of synthetic material, is fitted into a solid mahogany frame. Brass fittings and locks, characteristic of Danish designers of the 1940s, refer to the fittings in English furniture. The piece of furniture has been renovated; delicate scratches are visible on the top.
