Empire style chair, Denmark c. 1800

This Danish Empire-style chair is crafted from mahogany. It retains its original cane seat in a beautiful ochre color. The wood shows its original patina and oxidized coloration. The front legs are turned from solid mahogany, and the front corners of the frame are gently rounded. The chair features subtle inlay decoration on both the seating frame and the backrest.
