Świecak Candle Holder Marcin Skalski

ŚWIECAKI is Marcin Skalski’s interpretation of an object used until the 19th century as a support for tar torches, cheaper substitutes for candles. It is an object with versatile functions: it can be a decoration, a candle holder or a lamp. Like the originals of the time, Marcin made ŚWIECAKI in wrought iron and completed it with brass and wood. He obtained the raw material from scrap metal. The artist forged the iron and, thanks to this, the object acquired a unique texture. Marcin Skalski abandoned power tools altogether and went for simple tools that have been used for centuries.
